 |  | Oscar Bluemner (1867-1938)Following in his father and grandfather’s footsteps, Oscar Bluemner was educated as an architect, as well as a painter. Bluemner immigrated to the U.S. in search of architectural commissions. Failing at this, Bluemner ended up in New York, where his paintings were shown and well received. Bluemner lived the last 12 years of his life in Massachusetts. His death was believed to have been suicide.
