WILLIAM F. JACKSON

William F. Jackson was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, in 1850, and moved to Sacramento, California, in 1863. He was a student at the School of Design in San Francisco, where he had a studio until 1880, when he returned to Sacramento. Jackson is best remembered for his landscapes of that area, often featuring rolling hills and spring wildflowers, and for his 52 year involvement with the Crocker Art Gallery Museum and school.
